Obajana Water and Sanitation Project

Life Touchers International identified the need for an additional water system and proper sanitation for the Obajana Community in Kogi State in 2010. Most of the people who cluster around central water taps haggling for water are women and children; thus, providing an additional central water system for Obajana meant a little step in easing the struggle for the women and children in that community.

Life Touchers International constructed a manual hand pump borehole which was, then, commissioned by the local authorities of Obajana. Ten sign posts with the inscription, Keep Obajana Clean, were also constructed and fixed at strategic locations, plus distribution of public waste baskets. The project was well received and appreciated by the local authorities despite the inadequacy of resources which could have aided more.
