Feedbacks from the Nigeria at 60 Project

We are excited to share with you the results of our students from the recently concluded Nigeria at 60 project in the month of October. Our female students, in a very short period, crafted, throw pillows, Ankara flowers, ankara brooches, hair bands, hair bonnets, and many more.

Some of our students’ written testimonials:

“I am so happy to be a part of Nigeria at 60 project. I was recovering from depression as a result of the global pandemic and the negative effect it brought to my business and family when I stumbled upon the advert on social media and applied. It was a great decision indeed as it awakened the interior decorator in me. I learnt how to make different kinds of throw pillows (square-shaped, heart-shaped, cylindrical-shaped, and pineapple-shaped), hair bonnets, bow ties, organisers, hair ruffles, hair bands, jabots and different kinds of bags (casual, sport, simple purse, and multipurpose wallets). Now, I can make money from my new skill and become a better person. Thanks to the sponsor, Dr. Bola Oyelakin and the partnering organisation, Tidy Collections.” – Victoria Tolulope

“My name is Deborah Mayowa Faseyi. I am one of the beneficiaries of Life Touchers International’s project in partnership with tidy collections to sponsor 60 unemployed women in celebrating Nigeria at 60. I saw the advert on my church’s WhatsApp group, and I applied immediately. It was a golden opportunity for me to become a boss of my own as getting gainful employment after graduating has really been challenging. I’m so excited to be one of the chosen women as the program has given me a career path to develop, earn a living, and also plan for my future. I was able to learn how to make different accessories (bow tie, hair ruffle, brooches, hair bonnets, freckle flowers, hair bands), throw pillows of different shapes, bags, organizers, wallets, sports bags, etc. The program has really blessed me as I can do all those things on my own now and also creatively earn a living. I want to say a big thank you to Life Touchers International and Tidy Collections for contributing their own quota to the society at large. God bless you more.” – Deborah Mayowa Faseyi
